One of the challenges in the grading of rides is that each ride is different. There can be much debate generated as different riders have different capabilities, riders bring various bikes and attitudes to rides. Grading is influenced by:
The Rides Coordinator and the Rides Committee from time to time review the grading of Bike North rides to ensure consistency across the programme. The purpose of this page is to provide more information about our rides to help you choose the best one for you. The table below provides information on aspects of Bike North's rides with the aim of providing a development progression for those wanting to upgrade their riding skills and capabilities.
This is not a definitive list of all Bike North rides; rather it is a list in ascending order of difficulty of the rides programmed during the next 90 days.

means some short but sometimes steep pinches, or just rolling terrain

means some longer steady climbs or steep pinches on an undulating route


means several long and steady climbs throughout the ride, sometimes with steep sections



means the route is very hilly and will include all types and grades of climbs
