We will do this on a quieter traffic day so that you get to know the best ways to travel. Come along with your bike or load up as if you are giving it a real practice ride.
The route will cover approaches to Gladesville bridge, travel across the bridge on the cycleway and then follow the recommended cycle route through Drummoyne, Balmain and over Anzac Bridge to Pyrmont. The return route will be similar. This ride is recommended for people who have reasonable cycling skills and are seeking how to better cope with traffic and riding to work. It is not a ride for beginners. The ride leader will also give some tips on general issues associated with commuting- what to look out for, how to manage riding in traffic, recommended clothing and special equipement (lights/vests etc)as well as other pearls of wisdom to make commuting a feasible and recommended way to travel to work. |
