Blind Corner Near Viaduct,

Just 100 metres north of the brand new bridge and the viaduct crossing of the creek the cyclist must cross Sussex St, Cabramatta.

This intersection is quite blind as traffic from the left of the photo comes through an extension of that viaduct.

The crossing is poorly designed and built with an open grate in the middle of the road. This is a quite unsatisfactory point in the cycleroute.

HOW CAN THIS BE IMPROVED .....

Continue Cycleway Along the Viaduct

The viaduct causing the problem in vision is simply an extension of the same one referred to in the previous issue.

Clearly the cycleway needs to follow the viaduct north over the road until the railway reaches ground level again.

One key reason for building rail trails as veloways is to easily enable crossing intersections at grade. This is a very good example of how a rail trail solves this type of problem.

Two problems ... one simple solution
