Liverpool Widened Footpaths

South of Hart Park the cycle route leaves the railway line and the footpath has been merely widened to make this a shared path. Obstacles such as letter boxes remain.

At these traffic lights the cycle route crosses from the near footpath in the foreground to the path that can be seen diagonally opposite where new cement has been laid and a sign has been erected (far right of photograph).

We do not understand why the route does not take advantage of the railway easement from Hart Park to Liverpool. From this park the railway line follows behind Liverpool Boys High School, Liverpool Girls High School, Liverpool Hospital and then the TAFE. These are such obvious route destinations we would have expected the route to follow the wide easement here and provide access directly to these institutions and then on to Liverpool Station.
