Almost six months after the damaging storms of last summer, RMS contractors have at last removed the dangerous ‘trimmed’ trees (left over from the initial clean-up) that were protruding, skewer-like, over the guard rail towards on-coming cyclists along the old Pacific Highway between Mt Kuringai Station and Beaumont Road, Mt Kuringai.
This serious hazard has been the subject of a number of representations by Bike North members in the Hornsby area, particularly John Hunt, who sought to highlight to the RMS the danger this posed to cyclists. Their practical advocacy seems finally to have produced an acceptable outcome.
Better late than never as they say and many thanks to all those who kept up the pressure for this hazard to be removed.
