Ku-ring-gai Chase National Park Plan of Management Review

Thank you to all those Bike North members who offered their views on what should be done to make cycling safer and more enjoyable in Ku-ring-gai Chase National Park.

Bike North has submitted its response to the National Parks and Wildlife Service, a full copy of which can be downloaded from here :-

Needless to say we all seemed to be in furious agreement with each other that speed limits needed to be re-assessed in the Park, that cyclists required more and better road markings and warning signs to remind other road users of their vulnerable status and road surfaces also needed to be improved.

Frustratingly, the relevant discussion papers did not give any clues as to the statistical basis relied on for some of the suggestions made but realistically the process of renewal for the Park’s Plan of Management is still in its early days and the National Parks and Wildlife Service have stated that there will be another opportunity to have our say when the draft new plan of management is completed and put on public exhibition.
