Young Street, Neutral Bay Upgrade – Closing Friday 11 June

The Young Street Walking, Cycling and Streetscape Improvements currently on public exhibition closes Friday 11 June, so it’s time to respond and we need your support.

This project is funded by Transport for NSW under their Active Transport grants program but if people don’t respond to this exhibition it won’t go ahead. So please go to https://yoursay.northsydney.nsw.gov.au/young-walk-cycle and submit your response or email yoursay@northsydney.nsw.gov.au. Please state that you support this project, even if you have suggestions for further improvements.

These improvements provide an extension of the existing separated cycleway between North Sydney and Neutral Bay, making the connection from Sutherland Street to Neutral Bay Village. This is a local bicycle route with connection to the regional route.

If implemented this proposal would also create a higher amenity for pedestrians, by providing support for pedestrians crossing all legs of the Young Street / Belgrade Street signalised intersection. It also creates a more attractive streetscape.

This proposal encourages local residents to walk or ride to the village rather than driving, and makes this area a more attractive destination on the lower North Shore.
