The public health orders restrictions are relaxing from next Monday, 11 October, (provided NSW achieves 70% double vaccination) so we can have more of our rides. People who are doubly-vaccinated will be able to exercise in larger groups and move within the Sydney Metropolitan district (including Blue Mountains, Wollongong, Shell Harbour and Central Coast, but not in regional LGAs).
Ride Leaders are already putting more rides onto the Calendar in anticipation. Register for the ride by the normal process.
Bike North follows the public health orders and so people must be double vaccinated to join our rides. Riders are responsible for showing the Ride Leader their vaccination certificate before the ride starts (e.g. on their phone). We have placed on the riders – not the Ride Leader – the obligation to show that they are complying with the health orders.
We acknowledge the inconvenience for riders to have to show this, and for Ride Leaders to have to check it. We feel it is a small enough task and won’t take too long at the start of rides. It also is yet another reminder to us all that we continue to need to take Covid seriously.
We look forward to seeing you on a ride soon!
