01/06/2023 Thursday Pie in the Sky (Extended Version)

Starts at: 08:00:00 Hornsby Park, northern end, opposite Council Chambers.
Ride from Hornsby up the old Pacific Highway to Cowan and then down the hill to the Hawkesbury River. Turn around and climb the hill back to Pie in the Sky
NOTES:Extension will be on the way to PITS - Berowa ferry climb. Descend from Berowra to the ferry, wait for the ferry then climb avoiding most of the traffic.

Off-road cycle route from Meadowbank to Marrickville, with a number of on-road sections that join the cycleway sections. We ride to Olympic Park then to S Strathfield then join the Cooks R. Cycleway to Marrickville for coffee

Starts at: 08:30:00 Tuggerah Station west side.
We cycle around Tuggerah Lake and Budgewoi Lake - some of it is on cycling paths and some of it is on the road - some sections are slower to enjoy the views and other sections are faster to enjoy being able to build up a little bit of speed.
NOTES:Longer ride lead at a more steady pace, guidance overall average 18 - 19kmh. Pace on the flat around 23kmh. Timed for the arrival of the 8:32am Tuggerah Station train (Epping 7:13am, Hornsby 7:26am). Train timetables do change, pls. check prior to leaving home. Lots of car parking at Tuggerah. Please bring two spare tubes.

We make our way to Oatley Park via the M5 cyclepath (including the Linear path) and then head to Como for a coffee stop. We return via Carss Park and the Ramsgate-Brighton-Le-Sands foreshores.

Ride the full length of the M7 cycleway. This is an out and back route with a surprising number of climbs, though nothing steep.

Loop from the Hills to Richmond including the M7 Cycleway, Richmond Rd, and a scenic loop around the RAAF Base before heading back via Windsor Rd to the start.
NOTES:To achieve ave speed greater than 25kph we will be cruising at speeds in the high 20s - low 30s. Participants must be able to sustain these speeds for prolonged distances. Optional banh mi at the conclusion of the ride :)

Ride via Terry Hills, Akuna Bay, Church Pt (for coffee) and return via McCarrs Creek Rd.
NOTES:Ride will target an overall pace average in the brisk range (22 - 25kmh). To achieve this the ride will be lead at more than 25 kmh on the flat. Please note there are a number of long hills several km long. May be cancelled if raining.

Scenic loop skirting the harbour to Neutral Bay via harbour lookouts, reserves, historical sites and aboriginal carvings. Lots of hills, a few short steep descents. Quieter suburban streets, 250 metres of unsealed surface.
NOTES:Parking available in Slade St, then ride over Freeway via share bridge to start. Read description re lots of hills and a rough road surface. Leader m 0493382359 on ride only.
