Moderate paced ride via Akuna Bay to scenic West Head . Bring your own morning tea to savour with the magnificent views across Pittwater and Broken Bay.
NOTES:Lovely bush roads and water views. This ride has technical descents and a couple of long ascents and so requires a good level of fitness. It is helpful for people wanting to stretch themselves. Take the hills at your own pace; I’ve rarely averaged more than 20kph. We will have numerous regroup points to help cater for a range of speeds. I strongly recommend bringing two water bottles. We will start riding with 5 mins relatively easy warm-up.

NOTES:Our special start at BEROWRA STATION reduces the length to 80kms. It’s fairly hard riding through gorgeous bushland. There are four glorious descents and FOUR BIG CLIMBS (about 1200 metres of climbing). We go beyond Calga, down over beautiful Mooney Mooney Creek and up the other side, to the Australian Reptile Park near Somersby. Then we turn around and enjoy it all again on the way back. Take-away coffee breaks at Saddles on the way out and at Road Warriors (negotiable) on the way back. I strongly recommend bringing two water bottles, especially if it is hot. We will start riding with 5 mins relatively easy warm-up.
