From the foreshore, riders gain a direct view to an active runway of Sydney Airport, at that point where planes wheels leave the runway. Riders also view the massive operations of a container port, loading and unloading containers from ships. There is also an optional visit to a protected bird sanctuary with a private, large circular viewing deck.
Once back in the park itself, riders are able to view large animal sculptures.
On return, the ride passes through Kingsford, turning back to Gadigal Ave and Bourke St, before heading through the Domain and finally back to Milsons Point.
Allow for 4 – 4.5 hrs hours including ride briefing, regroups, coffee, and viewing point at a Steady 17 – 19 kmh pace.
The ride uses a range of shared paths and cycleways, local roads, and slightly busier roads. Riders also need to be comfortable cycling on the road/road shoulder with traffic. A ride leader may alternately choose to ride on available shared paths and cycleways, or on the road nearby.
