Ride With GPS Map/Cue/Profile/TCX/GPX

The ride starts and finishes at the Meadowbank ferry wharf, and proceeds clockwise around the bays and foreshores on the N. side of the Parramatta R, over the Gladesville Bridge and the Iron Cove Bay Run. Italian coffee will be enjoyed in Leichardt, which is reached mid-way around Iron Cove, with a diversion down Hawthorn Canal. After coffee, the ride will retrace Hawthorn Canal and continues in a clockwise direction around Iron Cove before diverting to the bays and foreshores on the S. side of Parramatta R. The ride crosses the Parramatta R. using the ferry between Mortlake and Putney (**check operating time of the ferry prior to the ride). Alternatively we will return to the start via the Concord Hospital/ Ryde bridge route.
Allow 3.5 - 4 hrs hours including ride briefing, regroups, coffee stop and ferry trip assuming a steady 18 kmh ave pace.
The ride includes some hilly areas primarily in the first third of the ride. While there are numerous shared paths, riders need to be comfortable cycling on some fairly busy roads. Route hazards include cyclists, pedestrians, dogs, bollards, etc. particularly on the Iron Cove Bay Run. There are several water fountains and toilets on the route. There are no designated options for riders wishing to leave the ride, however there is a Light Rail from Leichardt to the Sydney train network. Additionally at Leichardt the train is in the commutable proximity of Summer Hill and Lewisham train stations.
