Enjoy a Gelato and Coffee experience on this loop ride that starts and ends at the Parramatta River, passing through Croydon to the Cooks River. Return to the start along the Cooks River, and through Strathfield.
Coffee and Gelato may optionally be enjoyed at separate locations. For example, coffee might be had within the Croydon village, and Gelato within Croydon Park.
The ride leader may choose to restrict numbers to ensure the number of participants meet the size of the intended stops. The ride leader may advertise a longer time duration than expected for the distance and pace to enable the visitation of more than one cafe/gelato establishment.
Riders are encouraged to bring a secure lock for their bike. Allow for 3 – 3.5 hrs hours including ride briefing, regroups, gelato and coffee, riding at a Steady 19km/h pace. While there are shared paths included, riders also need to be comfortable cycling on the road/road shoulder with traffic. Route hazards include on road/path items such as bollards, sticks etc. Riders to be particularly careful on shared paths with pedestrians and dogs that may unexpectedly move in front of the rider. There are several convenient early exit points (train stations) available nearby the route. Additionally, riders can turn around at any point and retrace the route. If a rider leaves the ride, they should let the ride leader or sweep know BEFORE leaving the ride, ensuring the person acknowledges they were heard!
Keeping us COVID-safe:
- Pre-registration is compulsory. There are no walk-ins.
- Physical distancing of 1.5 metres should be observed where possible.
- All riders are encouraged to bring hand sanitizer.
- Riders must not attend if sick, have Covid-19, influenza or symptoms of any communicable disease.
SOCIAL MEDIA
While on Bike North rides and activities, you may be photographed or videoed. Photographs and videos may be used by Bike North for social media or promotional purposes. If participants do not wish to be included in social media, they should make it know at the beginning of the activity and other participants must respect their wishes.
