Ride With GPS Map/Cue/Profile/TCX/GPX

Riders leave Sydney Harbour to Lane Cove where the ride turns toward Gladesville bridge crossing Lane Cove River and the Parramatta River. It continues through to Hurlstone Park to cross Cooks River entering Cup and Saucer Creek, to the M5 shared paths. On reaching Salt Pan Creek, the ride turns toward the Woronora River where riders will cross on a shared path suspended under the Bridge, which includes a spectacular view. Riders will continue on to Sutherland, then turn left to reach the Como Pleasure Grounds overlooking the Georges River. At this point the ride will cross that river, pass through Carss Bush Park, then heads back toward Sydney Harbour.

This ride is part of the Rivers to Como ride series that provides for rides crossing two, three, four or five rivers during the ride, but all passing through the beautiful suburb of Como overlooking the Georges River.

Coffee will be enjoyed in Como overlooking the Georges River. With a pre-organised longer stop, riders could choose to take a dip in either the tidal river netted pool, or the Como swimming pool which also overlooks the Georges River next to the Cafe. (Check operating times and safety conditions).

Allow for 5.5 to 6.5 hours including ride briefing, regroups, and coffee at a Moderate 22 kmh pace.

Riders are to have geared road bikes or geared flat bar road bikes due to the hilly nature of ride sections.

While there are shared paths, riders also need to be comfortable cycling on the road/road shoulder with traffic. Where there are shared paths, the ride leader may choose to use either the available shared path or to be on the road.

Route hazards include on road/path items such as bollards, sticks etc. Riders to be particularly careful on shared paths with pedestrians and dogs that may unexpectedly move in front of the rider.

The ride does pass near or through several railway stations which would provide options for riders to leave the ride. Check how trackwork might impact these options for the day. Optionally riders could turn around at any point and retrace the route, but please let the ride leader know BEFORE you leave the ride
