The first Virtual Information Session (Artarmon) for the Beaches Link will be held on Thursday 14 January, 4-5pm. You can RSVP for this session at https://caportal.com.au/rms/bl?hview=modalConsultationSession .

In Artarmon Bike North is extremely concerned at the impact on the popular cycleway alongside the Gore Hill Freeway in Artarmon.  The EIS states that this cycleway will be closed during construction between Station Street, Naremburn and Reserve Road, Artarmon. It is proposed that an alternative route would divert pedestrians and bike riders along Station Street, Francis Street, Lambs Street, Cleg Street and Reserve Road and incredibly, this is seen as a minor impact for bike riders.

Many questions arise including inconsistencies re detour route within document, safety, consideration of this major impact for bike riders, timeframe for detour and what impact when proposals are operational.

Also noted impacts on Hampden Road overbridge – what impact on Willoughby Council’s proposed separated cycleway.
