The Ultimate "Peak" Challenge

Bike North member Jenny Zheng Ye, at the age of 64, overcame unimaginable difficulties and successfully summitted Mount Everest on the 14th of May 2025 with unparallelled perseverance and determination!

Jenny’s first attempt to climb Mount Everest was in 2024, she had to return after she reached to 7500 meters due to a number of reasons.

Jenny quietly determined that she would make the attempt again this year. She undertook a rigorous exercise programme and, at the suggestion of Ride Leader Melody Guo, bought a new bike and started riding!

Jenny's exceptional endurance and courage can inspire us to step out of our comfort zone and pursue our dreams!

A huge congratulation to Jenny for her incredible achievement!

(Jenny may be the 'unofficial' oldest lady climber in China and Australia to summit Everest).

Melody Guo.

Where am I?

What3Words is a handy location app you can use on your phone.

Basically the world is divided upinto billions of 3 X 3 metre squares and each is designated with 3 words.

For instance, the statue of Queen Victoria at the Southern end of the QVB inSydney is at dishes.camp.hint.The dog on the tucker box near Gundagai is at exploit.shrub.pets.

When you open the app it uses the phone's GPS to find the location and display the three relevant words.

This can be very handy if there are no landmarks nearby and can be very useful in notifying emergency services of your location when help is needed.

Find out more at what3words.com or download from your usual app store.

On the Wiki page is an interesting explanation of how it was developed.
