The ride leaves the station toward Castle Hill Heritage Park, then along a short section of path beside one of the many creek lines in the area. We travel along various back roads and paths to Bella Vista. Along the way we pass though Fred Caterson Reserve, home of many of Castle Hill's sporting groups, and the Castle Hill showground.
We then head through bike paths through many parks and reserves, and local streets into the Bella Vista suburb. We stop for morning tea at the shopping centre built in what was the Norbrik quarry and from which we can view the Bella Vista Farm house on the hill above.
After climbing the hill we ride through the entrance to the Bella Vista Farm Park to join sections of the 'greenway' cycle paths. The route crosses back to Old Windsor Road and then Windsor Road for the return trip through Kellyville. We finish the ride with a steady climb back to Castle Hill Station.
This ride covers a wide range of conditions from quiet pathways and suburban streets, to a short sections of unpaved pathway. Riders should be comfortable riding on streets with moderate to busy traffic and be capable of climbing frequent short hills.
