Ride starts from Broadmeadow station after arrival of Hornsby (7:26am) to Broadmeadow (9:36am).
Return trains from Fassifern station run on quarter to the hour and the hour.
Scenic ride around Newcastle foreshore and environs including many of the popular areas and cycle friendly Fernleigh Track and northern shores of Lake Macquarie. Finish at Fassifern station.
This is a medium to medium-hard ride at a moderate pace. It is suitable for riders used to completing longer rides and who are self-sufficient. Riders need to be capable of completing medium and above graded rides to be suitable for this ride.
The ride will take up most of the day by the time you allow for train travel and riding time.
There are several short pinches around Green Point Reserve but in general this is a flat ride.
The ride starts from the Broadmeadow station and follows the harbour foreshore out to the breakwater. We return to Nobbys Beach and follow SUPs along the east coast as far south as Bar Beach.
From Bar Beach we head west along Glebe Rd towards Adamstown and the start of the Fernleigh Track. Quick coffee stop at Whitebridge along the track and lunch stop at Warners Bay. From there we continue to Five Islands and head south towards Toronto to Fassifern Greenway and finish at Fassifern station.
